The Governor signed SB-1159 on 9/17/20. The employer is required to report ALL positive COVID tests (whether industrial or non-industrial) to Athens. This new mandatory reporting is not to report a claim, but for tracing by location to meet the statutory guidelines and so examiners can correctly address whether an “outbreak” has occurred under the statute for the presumption. This reporting is required within 3 days of the employer’s notification of a positive test from one of their employees and if reported untimely the employer could be assessed a $10,000 fine.
